Welcome to Idaho-Trails.com!  This site is dedicated to the preservation of the history of Lemhi County, Idaho, the birthplace of Sacajawea.

Lewis & Clark spent twenty-four days here exploring the area and determining how to best travel through these mountains, as they had found the Salmon River to be impassable.

Follow their trail in the pages of "Lewis & Clark in Lemhi County, Idaho," a book containing the story and over 100 color photographs of the trail, depicting historically accurate scenes, as pristine as the day they were seen by the members of the Expedition.

This large 8 1/2" X 11" book is full of color photographs depicting scenes just as Lewis & Clark saw them 200 years ago!  Learn more about this one of a kind book here.

Future historical books to appear on this site, written by the author, will relate the history of the Gilmore & Pittsburgh Railroad, and mining in Lemhi County, Idaho.
